We invite Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) interested in supporting philanthropy in West Michigan to join Women of Color GIVE.
Our members are called investors because we gather to create a space for fellow women of color to step into their power and leverage their resources as community builders and world changers.
All are welcome to join in WOC Give’s mission; individuals, families, non-investing BIWOC, BIPOC vendors, nonprofits, and corporations. Those who do not identify as a woman of color are invited to register as a WOC Give Partner.
Pledge $75.00 per quarter...
… for an annual contribution of $300.00 to the WOC Give Donor-Advised Fund. This financial commitment serves as the investor’s proxy to nominate nonprofits and vote in our annual grant distribution program.
Champion causes...
…by nominating local nonprofits that serve the BIPOC community to receive grants from the WOC Give Donor-Advised Fund. Investors will honor their pledge even if they are not fond of the charities selected for funding.
Serve and connect...
…with the sisterhood of 100+ BIWOC leaders that are actively investing in WOC Give, and the 50+ partners that are supporting our mission.
Your voice and contributions are important to us, and we value the diversity of perspectives and experiences that our investors bring.
While not required, investors are encouraged to build WOC Give together by serving on the following committees: Events, Membership, Nominations & Distribution, Strategic Partnerships
We limit registration to a few weeks every quarter. Concentrating investor registration in this way helps us track and facilitate a fulfilling experience for new investors.
Many Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) have been left out of traditional streams of capital and therefore are *grossly underrepresented in wealth building. The lack of disposable income and other barriers to opportunity have not just barred us a seat at the table, but have left us out of the room completely. When looking at numbers of BIWOC venture capitalists and Angel Investors, the numbers are even lower.
